HEALTH in BALANCE is an independent health and preventative care advisory service, which has been in operation since 1998. A variety of preventative strategies have been applied at pioneering health projects in East London since 1992, at which specific health promotion teaching programmes have been facilitated in collaboration with general practitioners, hospital physiotherapists and other health care associates. Our aims have been consistent with the national objectives within the strategy for health outlined in the Government’s White Paper, which puts emphasis on collaborative work to promote better general health and taking action to prevent illness within our communities.
